BRIFON Corporation, a full-service real estate company, is seeking a part-time (20 hours per week), Janitorial/Maintenance Technician.

 

Company Overview

The BRIFON Corporation, established in 2001, is a “boutique” real estate company, located in the heart of San Francisco's beautiful, historic Nob Hill, and specializes in commercial and residential real estate and leasing.  We are a small, yet well-managed and successful company, seeking responsible employees.

We are looking for a part-time (20 hours/week), skilled and reliable Janitorial/Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance division. In this role, you will undertake a variety of projects for a very busy property management company. We’ll rely on you to keep our facilities in perfect condition by doing scheduled and ad hoc maintenance items.

 

Assignments include the repairs and maintenance of interior and exterior, as well as the main office location. You will be responsible for upkeep and repair duties including maintaining green spaces, identifying the need for repairs, responding to tenants’ maintenance requests, and servicing company equipment.

 

To be effective in this role, you must be well-organized with strong general repair skills, and hard-working, possessing outstanding problem-solving abilities. Must be able to keep worksites neat, clean and tidy. A keen eye for detail, good physical stamina, and strong technical knowledge are greatly valued in this position. 

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Identify and report the need for major maintenance repairs

  • Respond to clients’ maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner

  • Clean facilities by sweeping, dusting, etc.

  • Perform maintenance and light repairs

  • Paint and fill gaps or wall crevices 

  • Undertake light installation or carpeting

  • Repair equipment and appliances

  • Assist tradespeople with electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs

  • Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks

Mandatory Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • A minimum of 2 years’ working experience in a similar role

  • Basic math skills

  • General understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems

  • Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 80 pounds, and walk up numerous flights of stairs 

  • A high degree of responsibility and personal accountability

  • Professional demeanor and consistently punctual

  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends

Preferred Requirements:

  • Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment

  • Solid experience with plumbing and electrical systems

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision

  • Prefer residents living in San Francisco with 5 years minimum of verifiable work experience

Compensation: $20 hour
